Name: Mohaned Egred
BSc (Hons), MBChB, MD, FRCP, FESC, is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Freeman Hospital Cardiac Centre & Newcastle University, UK.
He has a special expertise in complex and high risk coronary interventions and is a proctor and physician trainer in multiple complex coronary intervention techniques and runs regular training courses as well as visiting other hospitals around the globe to train consultant colleagues.
He has particular expertise in chronic total occlusion interventions, intravascular imaging, and in the use of adjunctive devices such as Laser and Rotablation. In addition, he is the lead clinician at the Freeman for percutaneous mitral valve interventions.
Dr Egred has over 100 papers, articles and reports, and over 70 abstracts and oral presentations. In addition to multiple book chapters.
He is a faculty member and live case operator of many international educational meetings.
Dr Egred is a Member of the British Cardiac Society, the British Cardiac Intervention Society, the Royal College of Physicians UK, the European Society of Cardiology, and the European Association of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
He has served until recently as the clinical and educational section editor of the Journal of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and is a regular reviewer for major international journals. He is a special advisor and assessor for the UK Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.
